How can you help me with my web presence?
It takes a lot of skill and experience to simplify the web's complexities. We make the complex appear simple. No project is too small, and one initial 15-minute phone consultation is free. Please call (415) 742-1086 to speak with us directly, schedule an online meeting, or request an on-line quote.
The following is a partial list of what we can help you with:

What are your rates?
The regular (Drupal) production rate is $100 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM (Pacific Time), Monday through Friday. Work outside the daily schedule may begin with one hour as the minimum with a pre-arranged agreement.
We provide estimates based on detailed proposals, and prefer to engage in an initial "discovery phase" to refine development plans for projects that take more than eight hours. We can also help you write project requirements to diversify bids from the development community.
  • New website visual designs/themes (such as Photoshop [CS3+] or Illustrator [CS3+] source files)
    $1,000 - $3,000+
  • Website XHTML/CSS templates w/o our design services
    $350 - $600+
    If you have more than a few templates, please contact us for competitive rates.
  • Small "static" websites w/o visual design services
    $600 - $2,000+
  • Drupal themes w/o our design services
    $800 - $1,500+
  • Small websites with CMS (Drupal) or blog (Drupal or Wordpress), w/o our design help
    $1,200 - $3,000+
  • Medium websites with CMS (Durpal), w/o our design services
    $3,000 - $7,000+
  • Medium websites WITH our graphic/visual design services

  • Large website productions WITH our graphic/visual design and development services

"Small websites" = 1 to 15 static pages or simple CMS and some server-side programming.
"Medium websites" = 15+ pages/content types, server-side programming or CRM/blog, various user roles, custom views, blocks, and modules.
"Large websites" = hundreds of pages/content types, CMS, many user roles, views, blocks, complex modules, and CRM.

What do you have to show for what you've done before?
Many of our clients include hard-working Visual Designers, Producers, and business owners discovering relief from the technical aspects of web development. Some clients simply need a little extra help completing various web projects on time. Please contact us to see more, as many projects cannot be published online. 
How quickly can you deliver?
It's up to you to decide. What's your deadline? Quevin can work with your needs and establish a delivery schedule that fits your own deadlines. We don't start working without setting the development schedule with you first.
Who or what is Quevin? Is this a big design firm or international service?
Quevin—the business—represents a system of web production methodologies and iterative development interactions to help ensure that your web project launches successfully. Quevin's a full production team when necessary, and a professional who is available to speak with directly about your project. Quevin, LLC isn't a large company, though it produces like one.

 Can you provide graphic and visual design?
Yes, we can design an entire Web site, or simply touch-up a single graphic. We understand all image formats, and know how to optimize for the Web. The images you'll receive from us will render beautifully in any browser, and look crisp and load as quickly as possible, while losing as little quality as possible.

Content & Code

Is your (X)HTML / CSS standards compliant?
Yes, Quevin codes using W3C's (X)HTML and CSS standards. Rest asured the code you will receive is valid (X)HTML and CSS. Not too concerned about valid HTML or standards-compliance? That's fine, here's an interesting article from A List Apart to help you decide what's best for you.
Which browsers do you test in?
Your pages are tested in the following browsers on PC and Mac (Ubuntu if requested) platforms:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8
  • Mozilla Firefox 3+
  • Safari 4+
  • Others upon request...
How can I provide you with various project requirements?
Use the Quick Start form to begin. Or call us: (415) 742-1086. You can also use Photoshop to create notes on the design itself. We'll personally ask you to describe your project in detail (i.e. Flash movies, text you want as an image, expandable DIVs).
Do you code any "Web 2.0" JavaScript, DOM or AJAX?
Quevin can code most of what you need from scratch, or by utilizing the latest JavaScript libraries (JQuery, MooTools, Prototype, Yahoo! UI, etc.). Specify whether you want to use any particular JavaScript library like MooTools, jQuery , Yahoo! UI or Prototype.
What if I have changes once my project begins development or design?
Quevin is happy to help with any further modifications you'll need. Guaranteed delivery time does not include modifications after the project has begun. If modifications you need effect development or change the layout from your original mock-up, there will be additional charges we'll agree upon first.

Project Source Files

What should I provide Quevin to begin my Web project without delay?
Photoshop PSD's are preferred as the source for your Web development, but AI, PNG or JPG (in high quality) is also OK. If you have any custom fonts used in the design, those will also be required. You can also provide any related code to help us meet certain requirements of yours. Otherwise, our goal is to provide the best markup to reasonably match your mock-up.
How can I send you all of the files for my project?
One compressed file (.zip, .rar or .tar) is best, especially if there are more than a few files to manage. You can add this to the Quick Start form, or we'll provide an FTP account to upload everything to.
Will you return source files with slice guides?
Once the project is complete, everything you provided will be returned along with related assets produced. You'll therefore be able to make as many changes as you like without us. Or we can make future changes for you, of course.
Do you use source control?
Of course. We utilize Git source control with Github to host our repositories securely. We also use localized backup methods and check work into the repository early and often. Nothing gets lost, and we hold onto your source repository for six months following project completion.

Methods of Payment

How can we pay for everything?
VISA / MC credit cards, PayPal.com, bank transfer, or certified checks are OK. All prices are expressed in USD and tax is included.
When do I provide payment to start my project?
You will be required to pay a portion (usually 1/2) or in-full (if a new client) before the project begins. All related assets for each project are owned by Quevin, LLC until payment has been received in-full according to the billing terms (usually NET15) agreed to.

Your Privacy

Will my project be made public?
Quevin will ask for permission to publish thumbnails of your design or example code upon project completion. You own the images & code we provide, and the creative elements are always yours. Quevin has no right to use your example without explicit permission.
Will you keep a backup copy of my project?
Archives will be retained for up ot six months. Quevin recommends that you keep your content in storage once you've received everything.
