Powervation. Energy Controlled

Powervation is backed by Scottish Equity Partners, Intel Capital, Venture Tech Alliance, 4th Level Ventures and Enterprise Ireland. They automate power control for computer processors, saving manufacturers time and money. The same may be said for what we did with Acquia Drupal as their CMS (content management system). Now they can add/edit/delete content with various permission levels for company users. There's also a private account section that requires pre-approval to gain access to company documents.

Every page has options for SEO features, such as making the page title and the <title> tag different, depending on what you see in the browser bar or the page body. All URLs are fully customizable and all META information may be altered on a page-by-page basis. This is key to being able to compete in the search engines on a particular group of keyword phrases and topics.

Some challenges we encountered during production included making it easier for users to upload images at any size, and then configuring Drupal to downsample those images to be rendered at 72dpi, web-friendly, sharpened, and optimized images. This way, no graphic design is required. Simply upload and let Drupal do the rest. Similarly, any image "grabbed" from another website and pasted into the WYSIWYG (fckeditor) will be automatically downsampled and stored on powervation.com's own server. This way, if the image is removed elsewhere, it won't break locally. Of course, all images must be used with permission first.
