Solid Drupal Specialist for Ongoing Work (Anywhere (Telecommute))

I’m a freelance Drupal developer that’s hanging up the hat and going full time employment. I’m looking for someone to take over some of my old client accounts. I’m looking for an experienced freelance Drupal specialist (builder/themer) in North America.

You must have been substantially involved in (if not solely responsible for) at least 15 Drupal web site builds from start to finish. You must understand and be committed to building according to best practices with CCK and Views, Context or Panels, and hopefully Rules. You must know some PHP—a little knowledge of the Drupal API is a plus. You should use Drush. You must know the contributed modules ecosystem well and be able to manage release updates. Ubercart experience would be nice. The ability to manage a LAMP server through WHM/cPanel would be a definite plus, as would experience with revision control. For a couple of specific projects I have particular interest in someone that’s familiar with Pressflow with Boost and/or Domain Access.

You must be able to theme from a PSD to a high degree of precision. Experience with Zen is a preferred. You be familiar with template overriding and write good, valid code. Good understanding of SEO is essential. Front end optimization skills are highly desirable.

You must be highly ethical and reliable. You will need to bid projects ahead of time. You’ll use Basecamp for much of your client communication. I need someone that’s available immediately. The successful candidate will inherit at least two clients and may expect to receive perhaps $3,000 – $5,000 from them per month at a rate between $45 and $60 per hour, depending on skill. We have a Drupal website project currently underway, but there is a tight deadline and we're short-handed. There are some unique features, and we require a seasoned Drupal developer to assist our team in completion of this website. Much of the work will involve finding, installing, and configuring the appropriate modules, as well as a good amount of HTML/CSS theme work to match mock-ups provided by our designer, but there may be some custom coding necessary as well. We have extensive and deep PHP/MySQL experience in-house to back you up, but we lack the truly core Drupal knowledge to complete this project on time and under budget.

Ideal candidates will have developed several complex Drupal websites and be deeply familiar with Drupal's structure and organization. You must be able to come work on-site in our East Bay office for the two-week duration of the project. Port dynamic menu module from v5 to v6

We have a module that makes calls to an external system based on who you are logged in as...

1. Fetches an array of items and paths from the external system
2. Converts external array to a structure the Drupal menu system understands with callbacks and args.
3. Merges the new array into the Drupal menu system.

We have discovered that Drupal 6 no longer supports the dynamic menus (MENU_DYNAMIC_ITEM)

Urgent small Drupal Rules configuration job

Hi All,

I've got a small but urgent job setting up some business rules for a Drupal (6.16) site using the Rules module. I don't need any modules designed or modified, nor theme tweaking, site installation, etc. Just some configuring. While this primarily involves the Rules module it also interacts with the CCK and Pay Per Node (PPN) modules.

The scenario:
I've created a "business" node type. It has a bunch of CCK fields, one of which is Business Listing Type. This field has 2 possible values, 1|Free and 2|Paid, and defaults to Free. I'm using the PPN module to enforce creation of this node type - sort of.

I want to allow any registered user to create business nodes, BUT only "free" businesses. If they want to create a (or update an existing) business node as a "paid" business, I want the Rules module to first verify they have enough PPN "credits" to do so.

If they do have enough credit, I want the node create/update to go ahead and the PPN balance to be decremented.
If they don't have enough credit, I want the node create/update form submission to halt with an error warning them that they have insufficient credit for this.

We need the ability to drag a node (image) onto another node (image) on the same screen and associate them.
The nodes are of different content types. The nodes are separated out. One of the content types are listed on the left column. The other is in the right column.

Users drag the node from the right column, onto the node in the left column.

The nodes displayed are based off user argument.

Encrypting a drupal module

I would like to encrypt custom code (drupal module) that makes the site unique. In other words, I would like encrypt entire module..

eg: sites/all/modules/mymodule

I would like entire content under mymodule non-readable format on server.

As I host my website on shared hosting, I just want to rule out possibility some one with server access getting access to my custom code.

user matcher/friend finder with views/cck integration module.

I have a friend finder site with quite alot of members already, most of the site is built with cck and views, such as user profiles and search pages.

im trying to add the following functionality.

Users specify what kind of people theyre looking for, based on a number of dropdown fields, i.e age range location, they'll navigate to the friend finder page.

1) The friend finder will display relevant matches, one person at a time (the users photo/and any extra fields such as name/age/location), the user has the option to choose whether Yes (that they would like to be friends with the person). or No (they do not want to be friends with the current person). Once theyve chosen they are presented with another user where they click if they like them or not, and so on for as many people as they like. There can also be a skip button, if the user doesnt want to decide.

2) Each time a user clicks that they would like a person as a friend that person is sent a notice saying they have one person that would like to be friends, if another person likes them theyll have a notice saying two people would like to be friends and so on.

I have a section of my site where users can add in a new company (image, info, address, url, phone # etc) but these are considered user submitted companies.

We are getting quite a bit of interest in companies being able to submit their own information and expanding upon that to allowing things like company news, history, events, images, awards , products..

I would like a company rep to sign up via a normal account, then I can authorize them or enable them to the company permission role, which then they get a special admin menu to add the following information.

News - think of just news items (similar to a blog posts)
History - Fill it out once, history of the company, (then when they have filled it out once, they should only be able to edit it and not fill out another one)
Events - List of events, prob use some event module
Images - Allow them to use a gallery/image system (this already built for normal users they have their own gallery/images)
Awards - list of awards..

The the main company page would have tiny bits of info about the company , logo, one or 2 news items, location, 2 events shown in the them, etc.. and tabs at the top that go to the various sections, news tab would show all news, events would show all events that the company has put in.

We're stumped. Can you help us? Our site, which is in Drupal, had great Google search rankings up until 6 weeks ago but now Google is not caching our pages. That is our Drupal pages. Other landing pages on the same domain and hosted on the same server are being cached fine. Bing and Yahoo are also caching fine. But Google crawls us now and NOTHING gets cached. looking for a quote on a new module/facebook app

hi,
im looking to have a simple site set up in drupal, but will be used as a facebook application. The site will probably need a new module built.

What I need to be set up is a site where facebook users upload and vote/recommend content.

firstly, The facebook user will create a content, the title will be auto created with a mixture of tokens, the user will have to upload a file and select a time period from a drop down menu and also select another facebook user to upload a file,

once the second user uploads a second file a notice will be published to both users walls saying content x is created, and both users will then get the choice to select which users they want to vote on the content, a message/notification will then be sent to all users selected, saying user x wants you to vote on this content, and all selected users have the preselected time to vote on the content.

A user has the choice to vote on either of the users selected file. If they do vote a message is published to their wall saying, user has voted on x.

Once the preselected time is up, the content will be locked, displaying both the files and who uploaded the files, along with how many votes each received.

Any user can create as many of this content type as they want as often as they want.
Each user can only vote once on each content type.

Obsolete Drupal site migration

Hello,

I need to migrate the website www.issfanclub.com (4.6.11) to the latest stable version of Drupal available.
The theme is ok and must remain unchanged.
There are a few obsolete modules that probably need to be replaced and their content migrated. They are:
- guestbook
- mp3 files archive
- images archive

(I will rewrite the "Tracking" module so you can leave that alone)

Be adviced: I tried all the automated scripts available with no success. You will have to proceed manually...

Training, troubleshooting and maintenance retainer for existing network of Drupal sites: AWS and server-side experience please

Help needed with an existing network of Drupal 6.12 sites for a small publishing company based in Houston, Texas. Local applicants preferred but not required.

Sites are run on Amazon AWS cloud servers and applicants should have experience and references or examples of work involving that system as well comfort with server-side operations (Linux).

The sites are currently in working order but have a few problems outside the capabilities of the current administrator. Server maintenance and communication has been a problem in the past, and it is essential that the applicant be comfortable and capable working in this environment.

The desired arrangement would be for

1) a few troubleshooting projects paid hourly to attend to current issues (problems with cron jobs, alteration of views, alteration or disconnection of a custom php banner-rotation program) dealt with case by case within a few weeks of agreement;

2) training of current administrator in server-side protocol, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting as well as finer points of views and higher-level site control. Paid hourly, est. 15 hours.

3) monthly retainer of $X in exchange for Y hours of consultation, training, or troubleshooting help at a rate based on response time. (Faster response time = higher hourly rate, low priority/long deadline = lower hourly rate.)
